The Second life is only a virtual world. It might be used as marketing tool otherwise I don't see it can be useful for libraries and learning services.
In general 23 things is good for people who do not have IT knowledge who can broaden their view of the IT world and learn new things. But I think proper training, and more time for it is necessary.

It seems that a lot of people have found lack of time a real drawback. All of these web 2.0 technologies are timeconsuming, even if you've used them before and have a login. I'm a slow meticulous writer, so I'm only back at task 9 even though most of this is not new to me. (I thought helping other people along was a better use of my time than writing self-serving blog posts) *smile*.
